Meet Kendall

Welcome! I’m so glad you found your way here. I am a Mindful Life Coach for Parents and Parents-to-be, and here to support you through the ups and downs of your parenthood journey.

I am a social worker, teacher, researcher, and coach by training. My areas of specialty are child development, social-emotional learning, adult learning and strength-based coaching, organizational development and planning, and collaborative systems-change. I have a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from UC Berkeley and have spent my career supporting the well-being of children, families, and communities—as an elementary and early childhood educator, bilingual child development specialist, social worker, and justice activist. I’m particularly drawn to ways we can foster connection and healing where there is disconnection and suffering—in ourselves, within our families, among our communities, and beyond. I’m also a gigantic nerd and systems geek—I love to seek out where science and research meet healing and transformation, and create processes and systems that make connection and healing just a little bit easier for busy parents and parents-to-be (like yourself!).

I’m also a mama to two amazing daughters. And over the course of two decades have used just about every healing modality (Western and Eastern) you can name- counseling and therapy, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, mindfulness, amino acid therapy, anxiety medication, you name it, I’ve done it- to heal my childhood attachment wounds and traumas, and the resulting emotional, psychological and physical symptoms. And it all worked- a bit, and for a while. I could talk about my core issues until the cows came home. But then what? I could address my anxiety and adrenal fatigue with acupuncture and amino acid therapy, but what was at the root? Why was I getting so anxious? Why was my body using so much adrenaline all day, every day.

I found the The Therapeutic Meditation Process (TMP) in 2013 when my partner and I were first trying to get pregnant. It was the first methodology that integrated many of the modalities listed above together in a beautifully structured and really easy to use way. It successfully brought my anxiety down from the highest of the high, to almost nothing within one month of coaching and using the guided meditations. And it has stayed there ever since. TMP has brought sustained peace and balance to my life while giving me the tools, self-trust, and ability to take ownership of my own healing process- increasing my self-awareness, self-acceptance, and ability to more effectively self-regulate.

I always say that my daughters motivated my healing process before they were even conceived. It was the idea of trying to get pregnant that made me realize I wanted to get my anxiety under control and my nervous system stabilized. I wanted to make sure I did everything in my power to prepare my body, mind and spirit to give that baby the best foundation for health and happiness that I could. These tools and this process have helped me so much in all aspects of pregnancy, labor, postpartum recovery, as well as transitioning into parenthood. I still use it on a daily basis, I’m still a parent, I still need support on maneuvering the stresses of daily life and parenthood. But this process and these tools have helped me rewire my brain and reparent myself, so that I’m able to get closer to the person and parent I want to be every day (practice makes progress!).

And that is why I am SO excited to share this process with you and support you on your journey of parenthood. I would be honored to work with you and serve as your coach and guide as you make the transformations you want for yourself, your family and your life.

Warmly,

Kendall Heaton, MSW
